Chrysler Group and SIRIUS Satellite Radio Team Up For Jeep Commercial

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Chrysler Group, which introduced 10 all-new vehicles this year, is showcasing three of them in a new co-branded TV ad campaign that highlights the benefits of SIRIUS Satellite Radio in Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge vehicles. The trio of 30-second spots features the 2007 Chrysler Aspen, the 2007 Dodge Nitro and, in the ad for the 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, skateboard legend Tony Hawk. The ads debut on network and cable television Friday, Nov. 10.

Here's a run down of the Jeep commercial:

"Grinding" -- The spot opens on outdoor concrete steps with a metal rail running down the middle. A young skateboarder "grinds" down the rail, followed by a second. Standing on the sidewalk, the skateboarders look up to see a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited coming down on the rail, sideways. Tony Hawk is behind the wheel. After the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited lands on the sidewalk, Hawk says to the skateboarders, "This thing's got pop!" The SIRIUS logo comes on the screen with a voice-over: "Get any new Jeep vehicle, like the all-new Wrangler Unlimited, equipped with a SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and you'll get a 12-month subscription to the best radio on radio." The spot closes with the skateboarders walking back up the stairs for another run. Hawk drives by them in the Wrangler Unlimited and says, "Now I'm going to try a hurricane." (A type of skateboard stunt.) Says one of the youngsters under his breath, "Show- off."
