Hi-Lift Jack Combo with JackMate
If you do any type of off-roading, a Hi-Lift Jack is a must have. The jack itself can be used for a variety of applications. You can use it for trail repairs, garage work, or even to help pull a stuck buddy out of the mud. I have even heard of people using their jacks for winching purposes.
Pros:
- Very cost effective and practical to have
- Comes with a variety of extra tools
- Usability
Cons:
- Storage of extra tools and Hi-Lift Jack
Hi-Lift jacks come in two different sizes and two different color styles to give you that customization that we are all looking for. The jacks come in red/black color combinations and have lengths of either 48 inches or a massive 60 inches. For my application, the 48 inch one was just perfect. I opted for it along with the combo kit.
With the combo kit you get all the essentials, such as the base stand so you dont sink into the mud while trying to use the jack. You also get a jack handle isolator to keep the handle from rattling around on your jack. The jack itself has a small metal clip that is used to keep the handle close to the jack, but it is very insufficient. The handle isolator keeps things snug and tough, like the jack should be.
Finally, the last thing included in the kit is the JackMate. The JackMate slides on either end of the Hi-Lift Jack bar using quick release pins. It can be stored on the top end, replacing the "top clamp" on the top of the bar. The JackMate can be installed on the base of the Hi-Lift by removing the existing base using the quick release pin that comes with the JackMate and sliding the JackMate on that end. When used at the base end of the Hi-Lift Jack, the Jack-Mate has some gnarly teeth that will dig into logs or rocks offering greater support than the existing base.
All in all, the 48" Hi-Lift Jack combo is a great deal that gives you everything you need on or off the road.
