Price of product: $84 - $150
Technical Specs:
- Satellite Radio Ready: Yes
Satellite Radio Ready: The receiver is compatible with optional tuners that will receive digital satellite radio broadcasts such as Sirius. The digital satellite service must be subscribed to separately.
- RMS Power Output: 18 Watts
RMS: Root Mean Square is a formula that provides a reasonably accurate means of measuring and comparing continuous AC power. The use of this measure is preferred when matching system components, like amplifiers and receivers.
- Preamp Voltage: 2.5 volts
Preamp Voltage: Refers to the strength of the pre-amp outputs. Generally, higher output voltages make it easier to get a cleaner and a more noise free signal delivered to amps and pre-amps.
- Subwoofer Preamp Outputs: Yes
Preamp Output: Typically found on head units, a preamp output provides low level, high quality audio signal for use with external amplifiers.
- Maximum Power: 50 Watts
Maximum Power: The amount of power a speaker is estimated to handle during a brief high-intensity musical burst. Since this can vary with both frequency and amplitude, it is a much less accurate way to judge speaker durability and performance than RMS.
- DIN: 1
DIN: Acronym for Deutsche Industry Norm (Deutsches Institut fuer Normung), the German standardization body. A world reference standard for the mounting parameters of many common receivers (Head ends) as well as other types of cables and equipment.
- Changer Control: Yes
Changer Control: Receivers with changer controls operate same-brand/compatible CD or MD multi-disc changers.

About the KD-G310:
This is one heck of a head unit! If you want a head unit with 90% of the toys, and you don't want to shell out the dough then this head unit is for you! It's packed full of wonderful features such as being Sirius satellite ready (which I've heard is much better than XM as far as customer service goes) and MP3 compatible.
I've got this head unit running on both Jeeps (the XJ and the ZJ). I first picked it up for my ZJ when the sound system died. I loved it so much that I just had to buy it for the XJ. It's super easy to use and navigate, and there's really no need for the users manual that comes with it. It has a remote control which is super nice when you're driving once you get all of the buttons memorized. The head unit in the XJ is fully loaded with all the toys.
I'm currently running the satellite radio off of it (the internal box, $100), two 12" subwoofers, four aftermarket speakers, a 460w amplifier, and a 3 farad capacitor. The subs and the capacitor also both have blue neons in them which mean more power. This head unit handles it like a pro. Got sidetracked a little bit there, but I'm just giving you some idea of what this head unit is capable of handling. This is a must buy head unit if you're looking to upgrade from stock or just an out of date aftermarket one.
